I wake.

The air is filled with the beginnings of birdsong,

And the gentle, peeking rays sent by the sun

To combat the dark night, who flees now,

Ashamed of the way he silenced the world.

I lie in a bed of grass underneath the shade of a great tree.

No pillow,

But as comfortable as it gets out here.

Before, I’ve spent freezing nights

In uncomfortable caves

On hard ground

In cruel weathers.
