The Rise From Ash

Emboldened in blistering flame,

A wild spirit that life herself could not tame.

Feathers that were in constant a blaze,

Always bright and shining like a sun ray.

The classic battle of blue and red…

Endless life pitted against the dead.

With each day, he watches those below,

Those who stare, but jealous though.

A symbol of eternity, resurrection too,

But immortality, what is it to you?

To live forever, to rise once more,

Doesn't that story start to bore…

He always burns red, smoldering hot,

His opposition is blue, so easy to spot.

The underworld holds no cage for fire,

He is the symbol that society chose to admire.

Soaring boundless skies, with exploration.

What humans look at with frustration.

Remember this, for things don't come to an end.

Life and death are not an enemy, but a friend.

When the flames die from the gash,

It's he who'll rise from the ash.
