曹參是西漢的開國功臣之一，他和漢高祖劉邦、蕭何、樊噲（粵音：快）和雍齒等人都是沛縣人。

曹參隨劉邦起兵，屢次擊破秦朝的軍隊，立下諸多戰功。他曾打敗李由（秦朝丞相李斯之子）、王離、趙賁、楊熊等秦軍將領的軍隊。最終，漢軍攻陷南陽郡、武關和嶢關，進入咸陽，秦亡。
