Ikuta , a ten-year-old boy with long black hair , wakes up from his bed and gets down to see his breakfast left on the coffee table by the TV . He lives inside a big house with many useful rooms made to his wishes .
He eats the food joyfully as he opens the TV watching whatever he likes and paying attention to the dark figure beside him ' Maybe try something like the world's disaster ' " This is boring " Ikuta switches the channels pausing a little to act like he was checking the context making longer ones on those he was more interested in .
" Today's disaster news is a tsunami and a volcano eruption but casualties are zero to none with the contribution of the disaster management departments of the country " " Haha this is why you shouldn't kill gods but mortals seem to do so well I guess gods are no longer needed then "
Ikuta switched the channel as his mysterious Father left him , There were times when he learned a little bit more about his father while he was closed but he would frequently go out for reasons unknown to Ikuta or likely anyone .
" Ikuta do the dishes after you are done " " Okay " Claire leaves the house leaving Ikuta home alone , Ikuta knows very well that Claire isn't a human she isn't a beast either , She's just a reanimated corpse that his father controls to keep up with appearances .
" Ikuta your friends are here " Ikuta looks at the door as Claire opens it to see a car " Ikuta your friends Ezio and Nisse are here " " IKUTA " Ezio his childhood friend yelled as the blue wolf with talons as feet , a tail of a bird and horns of a young bull enter the house .
" There is no school today " Nisse said as the elf took her shoes out " Really ? " " Yeah the disaster forecast said there will be a huge storm today and we have to stay at home so we decided to come here and play "
" Kids have it hard without gods keeping them from natural disasters like these but mortals do thrive better without the gods " Ikuta ignored his father as he washed the dishes " Let me help " " No need it's just a few plates " Nisse watched as little steam went out of the sink from the hot water .
" Ikuta wanna play some games ? " " No I have to do my exercise " Ezio was disappointed to hear that as Nisse took out some books " Nisse ? " " No Ezio I have to study " " But that's not what the teacher is teaching "
" Learning is fun and I already finished what the teacher wants us to learn " " Ehh really ? " Nisse nodded and looked at the bookshelf containing textbooks from high school and college " Ikuta aren't you going to go to school soon ? "
Ikuta shook his head as he wiped his hand with a towel " No I'm already learning enough at home "
" But what about your social life like friends ? " " I'm fine having two plus sometimes too many friends make it hard to have any me time which I really like "
Nisse sighed and Ezio tried to help her offer reach Ikuta " What about sports ? " " They might think I'm bullying them because of my usual exercise " " Ahh come on they're just bad at it "
" Ezio you kept crying when I kept winning " Nisse held back her laughter " Haha obviously you'll never beat my kid " ' Father is bragging again ' Ikuta is used to his father's presence and just tries his best to keep his act up in ignoring him .
" But just try school it's not like it'll kill you to try " Ezio said giving out his last efforts " He's right , how about you try going to school tommorow ? " Nisse pushed the offer further " Tomorrow ? Too long send him out now " Ikuta watched as his father disappeared to make some things happen .

" I don't have pens and pencils , I usually just paint " " Even so you still need to bring pens " " Don't you need to enroll in school ? " " The school allows visitors to see what they can learn it's the only way a school can advertise without cost " Nisse said and Ikuta wondered how long his father would be back after he changed .

Ikuta took out his laptop " I hope it gets here soon " Ikuta opened it as the weather icon at a corner of the screen changed to a thunderstorm as the surrounding neighborhood rained .
" Why do you get a laptop ? " Ezio said with much jealousy " Because I'm homeschooled and I finish my classes quickly " ' and I needed to free up some time so that I could level up ' Ikuta closed all the windows revealing the wallpaper .
" You just need pencil , eraser and notebook just one of each is enough " Ikuta grabbed the nearest one " They won't arrive that quickly if it's raining outside " " I know but isn't it better to get it sooner ? "
Ikuta clicked the order and waited for his father to come back while Nisse and Ezio took out their books " What's the homework teacher told us to do ? " Ikuta looks at both of them wondering why they even bothered coming to his home .
" Why did you come here if you wanted to do homework ? " " Because your house is quiet it's just us at home and I need help with my homework " Ezio said and Ikuta turned to Nisse for her answer " I'm here because it's better than home "
Nisse's phone rang popping a message telling her the news " The school just said that classes will be back after lunchtime " " Really ? " Ezio complained ' I knew it '
Ikuta turns on the TV for the broadcast to confirm Ezio's worries " Aaaahh why can't school be out today " Ezio complains while Ikuta wonders about the order arriving in time " We have to eat lunch early because of this "
Nisse makes a call to ask her father to handle the forms to bring Ikuta inside the school " I'll have to tie my hair properly " Ezio looks at Ikuta's long hair which nearly reached his waist " Hey Ikuta what kind of hairstyle are you going to use ? "
" I'll just tie it like a ponytail " " I'm jealous you only got hair on your head sometimes having fur all over my body makes it so hard to clean myself " " Having fur over your body means you are warm all the time though "
" It's bad if summer hits " " That does sound terrible " " Ikuta make sure you got all the things you need to go to school " Ikuta nods and grabs a bag to put the school materials he ordered .
" What else should I bring ? " " Maybe an umbrella it could suddenly rain later " his father said and the broadcast announced a likely chance of rain in the afternoon , Ikuta didn't bother to check online for one and just took the black umbrella

" " You could use a phone to call your father " ' Right my father ' Ikuta acted like his father wasn't just beside him " I'm sure I'll be fine I am very strong " they both think of their prior visits to Ikuta's house and the ridiculously dense weights he carries when training .

Nisse says with much sadness " But it's too bad , I wanted to see what you could do , you are already homeschooled and very smart from it , it's just a waste for you to not have an affinity "
" Oh trust me he is very blessed to have a body crafted by a god like me " " It's okay that just means I get to exercise more " " Ikuta you exercise too much isn't there a reason for you to exercise ? " Nisse asked .
" It helps my body stay healthy if I exercise " " He does that because the level up system is gone so your bodies will be useless unless you maintain it , I for one think that this level-up system is extremely detrimental to a person " " But what is the period after lunch ? "
" It's about alchemy , they say it gets much harder on the next grade because they will soon talk about compounds and smaller ingredients " Ezio said " He means chemistry Ikuta " Nisse said expecting no one to understand Ezio's words .
" That's interesting what kind of things are you making ? " " Just the usual boring stuff " Ezio said " I wish we could learn Chimera Alchemist , but the teachers said it's a really hard subject " Ezio complained .

They did homework and played some games " It's lunchtime " Ikuta took the deliveries while checking his bag as the three ate while watching an episode of cartoons and finally went to school .
Ikuta waited by the gate reaching it faster than the car had ' I wonder how long they are going to get here ' he looks at the school as his father was moving around .
" Look at this spot , this is where one hell of a boss battle to fight will start Magic god you are so benevolent to only your creations huh ? " he said sarcastically .
He checks his bag to see if his father had messed around to put a weapon inside for him to use finding nothing " I don't think you would need a weapon for a Majin of this level just punch it hard " ' He's talking to me like how he is talking with the past incarnations '
A white dragon child looks at Ikuta by the school gate and leaves his family's car " Who are you ? " Ikuta turned to him remembering the vanilla ice cream he ate " I'm a visitor " " Oh really who's your friend that invited you ? "
" Nisse " " Oh you're one of her friends my name is Druk are you new to this town ? " " Sorta I've been home for a long time , I've never left it for a while " " Then how did you meet Nisse ? " " No I first met Ezio when he accidentally hit a baseball into my window "
" I did it because you can't stay shut in at home , have a social life for once " his father said as Druk smiled " So that's how you know Nisse , Ezio was her weird friend because of his feathers and fur "
Ikuta looks at the thin whiskers the dragon has " Yeah that's true by the way I haven't told you my name yet " " Oh I completely forgot about that " Druk ignores the first few words until Ikuta's name " My name is Ikuta "
Druk interrupted Ikuta with a question Ikuta " You're that Ikuta ? " " uuuhhh ... my full name is Ikuta Seishin ( 幾太 精神 ) ? " Ikuta said " You're that liar who said he's strong !!! " Druk yelled pointing at Ikuta " How dare you lie to a girl like Nisse !!! "

" Wha ? " " And here's another one " Druk grabbed it and started heaving for air looking at Ikuta who was holding his jacket like it was nothing " What the heck is in here ? "
" I don't know I just wear it because my father said it helps with my exercise " ' It's gravity magic that makes me feel heavier but others can also feel it if I take it off ' Ikuta takes the sleeves and puts it back on while making sure his long hair isn't in the way .
" That's so short next time you should beat the guy up , it's always nice to teach chivalrous people their place " Nisse and Ezio arrived and Ezio ran out of the car " Ikuta you were so amazing you ran through the streets like a cheetah , even a cheetah would lose to you "
" I was just training plus I had to carry weights with me " " Are you sure that's okay what about the food you ate ? " Nisse asked " yes after all I digest my food very quickly so I don't have to worry about vomiting them " " Even though you ate so much " Ezio said wondering when the day he could eat just as much come .
" Oh hi Druk " Nisse barely greeted her classmate " Come on let's go to our classroom " the three left Druk who was still dumbfounded by how Ikuta was able to carry such a heavy jacket with sleeves that he couldn't carry .

He was glad his father wasn't around likely tampering with the seal that was gonna break , A paper was placed in front of him as he turned to Druk who glared at him ' I will find that you aren't smart as Nisse said '
" Amazing I can see why you don't come to school you already have good studies at home , Ikuta " " Thank you Miss " Druk had his face on his desk upon seeing the perfect score that he checked on Ikuta's paper .
" That was amazing Ikuta " Ezio said " Maybe you should go homeschool instead " Nisse said " I don't want to there's a reason why I came to school you know " " It must be fun at your house Ezio " " No it isn't " " That's true last week they had a horrible roughhousing fight " Nisse warned .
' Roughhouse .. ' " Yeah that sounds like it will be horrible if Ikuta joins " Ezio said " For them it would " Nisse corrected " How come you are so strong Ikuta ? " " Exercise " " No amount of exercise can let you run that much with a jacket like that " Nisse said and the teacher comes in .

' In the first place what should I draw ? ' he thinks of the landscapes that he saw while browsing the internet and picks one by memory ' I could use this one '
He sketched a leafless tree defining each branch , he made dead bushes and little shriveled leaves at the sharp tips and put a few leaves falling off the tree as well as wind highlight by soft strokes .
He drew the sky with shades of darkness to show the clouds and tiny dots to reveal stars and then the moon ' Okay that's done ' Druk looked at Ikuta's painting made using only a pencil and felt that his painting was inferior .
" The next class is all about magic we'll be doing it outside you can watch if you want " Ezio said not knowing how to comfort Ikuta " It's okay Ezio you don't have to comfort me " Ikuta said " I told you he's not going to be mad about it " Nisse said " He's not like you who gets angry when you beat him at something "
Druk felt insulted by the stray bullet as Ezio asked " Why do you not have affinity anyways ? " " I don't know " " It's because he leveled up too fast , he metabolizes anything he eats that includes inferior magic which dies quickly inside "
" Some people without affinity still get more jobs because they can focus more on studying " Nisse said " Just like how Ikuta doesn't need to focus on magic development he can focus on physical training hence why he can run that fast "
They walk through the hallway while Druk doesn't even have the energy to show off from the stray bullet Nisse fired " But magic isn't really that useful nowadays only genius can make use of it and even they have little job opportunities "
" But you worked so hard in this class " " That's because I love magic and I want to find out a way to be able to use fire magic , my elven origins only let me use forest magic " Nisse complained , Ikuta didn't know what to say when following their conversation and took a seat at the benches to watch them practice magic .
He dozes off and finds himself in a special realm ' This is the only place dad can't find me , I'll be able to see what is going to come out from here ' he looks down to see a broken seal as it cracks guessing that his father is likely breaking it .
' Why is dad breaking it ' he tries to see what type of Majin he will be dealing with soon " Ikuta wake up " Ikuta opens his eyes interrupted by Ezio " It's gonna rain soon " " Oh okay " Ikuta went back inside the classroom .
As the rain poured , the teacher tried to continue the class " Okay class since there will be rain we will use our time to talk about the rules of magic , Now first we " Ikuta looked outside as his father passed through the ground revealing himself and waved at Ikuta as he pretends to gaze at the weather .
" We already know about the basics of magic so instead we will review one of the most prominent figures of magic coming from the book of legend " Ikuta turned to listen as he knew the origin of the book , the teacher used a projector to help immerse the students .
" Today we will talk about the Duchess of Darkness , she is from a noble family that held great influence in the dark arts , they were the greatest users of the dark arts and they imitated the magic of a god "

Then a scene played as a house that was once standing turned into ruins with darkness staining its crumbling walls and broken woodworks " Until the real duchess appeared , this one was the true duchess and every generation that had come in contact with the world had been nothing but a puppet so lifelike it was able to trick princes , noble son's to marry into the household "
There amongst the ruins appeared a beautiful woman who was drinking tea and a faceless maid controlled by strings " Wow " they all marveled the beautiful dark flowers that sprouted around the duchess .
" Her story was never told after being revealed to the world as the original duchess but the feats she " " Wow that's amazing what happened to the book ? " " It's with me " His father said intrigued by the story as the teacher responded saying that they didn't know where it went .
" What about her wand ? " " It's the umbrella beside Ikuta " his father's words didn't encourage any kind of reaction from Ikuta as he was already accustomed to the treasures that are hidden through his house .
' I don't where the book is though but it would be nice to learn the spells ... but why did father do that ? ' Ikuta was already very much aware of his father's habits to guide his incarnations around and with Ikuta being the newest incarnation he knew that his father's guidance was going to be more vague than the first incarnation .
' Could the Majin be related to the Duchess of the darkness ? ' " Miss what was the magic they imitated from the gods ? " " Oh that would be the creation of Majin , the family had been creating familiars each to guide the next generation but in reality , these guides are the familiar of the original Duchess "
" Can we see what they look like ? " Ikuta wonders were such guides look like as he pays attention " One of them is a kaleidoscope , dark butterflies that fly together , but the one thing that pairs them all is the personality of the duchess which we can learn from "
The projector showed images " Perfect now you know what's going to come soon " Although the surprise wasn't written on his face Ikuta assumed that the lesson the teacher was teaching was all to put the idea of the duchess into his head .
The rain continues to pour as he looks at the open space where the Duchess's familiar will surface " Ikuta did you enjoy the classes ? " " Yeah learning more about the duchess was fun " " I'm sorry you couldn't join magic practice " " No it's okay miss , it's not your fault that I don't have magic affinity "
The teacher smiles at him seeing how mature he is " Then I hope you go home safe " " Yeah you too " Ikuta grabs his umbrella as he goes out first and takes a step in .
