Dear Veron,

If you are reading this,

you probably had another strange day.

Maybe you gave a tourist a taco ticket.

Maybe you said “Roger Roger Rice Dumpling” again.

Maybe someone smiled at you on patrol.

Maybe someone didn’t.

I just want you to know this:

You are not only a cop.

You are not just the uniform.

You are not just a grammar mistake waiting to happen.

You are Veron.

And every mistake you make, every word you learn,

every smile you give—even the nervous ones—

they make you the kind of officer

the world quietly needs.

It’s okay to forget a word.

It’s okay to ask for help.

It’s okay to feel tired, even when you're wearing the uniform.

Just promise me one thing:

Keep going. Keep laughing. Keep saying “Hello.”

Even if your “hello” comes out weird,

or your “ticket” turns into dinner.

One day, someone will remember you—

not for how perfect your English was,

but for how brave your heart sounded

when you tried.
