“It’s a wrap, guys!” the director finally yelled, and Seo Joon had never felt more relieved in his life. Who would’ve thought that filming just one scene could take so many hours?
He had always dreamed of becoming an actor, and when the opportunity finally came, he was both anxious and determined to give it his all. It almost drove him insane. He’d imagined a hundred different things:
Would his fans—STARZ—enjoy his acting?
Would he get along with the cast and crew?
Would someone yell at him? He really hated getting yelled at.
But as it turned out, there wasn’t much to worry about. He fit in perfectly. The director liked him, and he’d already made a bunch of friends. He smiled to himself.
It was already quite late when they wrapped, and he was completely exhausted. He changed out of his costume and into casual clothes, then checked his phone. There were several missed calls—but not a single one from his obsessive best friend.
He chuckled. Jae Hyun was probably giving him space. He’d said as much two nights ago, when they sat together on the beach under the night sky. He still remembered how the stars had sChoiled that evening.
“I’m obsessive?”Jae Hyun had pouted, hands planted on his hips as he glared at Seo Joon.
Seo Joon scoffed and nodded. “Yes, Jae Hyun, you’ve been obsessed with me. Especially since I started filming this drama.”
“Really? Just because I care about you, that makes me obsessive?”
Seo Joon let out a small laugh, but Jae Hyun wasn’t having it.
“Obsessive?”he bit his lip, visibly annoyed.“Let’s see if I ever call you again while you’re filming. I wouldn’t want to intrude.”
Seo Joon had stared at him in disbelief. He looked ridiculously adorable with his cheeks puffed up and red from anger.
“Come on, I didn’t mean it like that,” he sighed.
“I’m not calling you again. You’re too busy for me these days.”
Seo Joon had been totally amused. “Really? Because Iwantyou to call me all the time, Jae Hyun.”
“Well, I won’t.”Jae Hyun barked and stomped toward his car.
“Are you sure, Jae Hyun-ah?”Seo Joon called after him.
Jae Hyun reached the car without responding, slammed the door shut, and Seo Joon couldn’t help but smile. He always looked so cute when he was mad.
Then Jae Hyun honked loudly. “You getting in or what? It’s late.”
Seo Joon grinned and jogged toward the car.
A hand suddenly wrapped around his neck, snapping him out of his daydream. He looked up to find his castmate Choi Min Tae looking down at him with a cheeky smile, his signature dimples showing.
“Hey, Seo Joon. It’s late. Why don’t you just spend the night with us at the hotel?”
“Nah, I’m good. I’ll head back to the dorm,” Seo Joon replied.
Choi Min Tae gave a crooked smile. “You idols never know how to chill. You’re what, twenty-one? Definitely not a virgin, right?”
Seo Joon didn’t reply. The older actor continued, “So you’re old enough to have a little fun.”
“There’s a cozy bar just beside the hotel. Some cast and crew are heading there. Come on—you earned it. For a rookie, you did well.”
Seo Joon blushed. “Thanks, hyung.”
“Let’s go,” Choi Min Tae said.
Seo Joon took a step forward... and suddenly Jae Hyun’s face flashed in his mind. He froze.
What the hell? Why did Jae Hyun suddenly pop into his head?
“Hey, Seo Joon—you okay?” Choi asked.
“Yeah... yeah, I’m fine,” he said, shaking off the strange feeling.
He followed Choi into the hotel lobby, where some cast members were waiting. Together, they went to the club. It was already packed—people dancing, drinking, making out, and throwing up on each other. Seo Joon was a bit nervous about being seen, but they assured him the place was private and known for protecting celebrity reputations.
He was satisfied with that. He sat in a booth with two otherBeautifulcastmates while the rest went off to dance.
“What can I get you?”a soft voice asked.
Seo Joon looked up to see a pretty girl with golden brown hair and large, expressive eyes. She was stunning—and her presence made him nervous.
Her eyes widened in recognition.
“Seo Joon! Oh my God, I can’t believe it’s you! I’m your number one fan!”she squealed, grabbing his hand.
“Yah, Lisa! Take it easy!”Choi Hyung Tae, a fellow castmate and idol, shouted. She immediately pulled away.
“I’m so sorry. It’s just... you’re even more handsome in person. And on TV, you’re already super handsome. I love your stage expressions, your outfits—my friends are going to freak out when they find out I met you. I ramble when I’m nervous...”
Seo Joon gave her a small smile. “Calm down, Lisa.”
“I’m calm. Totally calm,” she said, taking a deep breath.
“Okay Lisa, it was nice meeting you. Now, can we get our drinks?”
Choi Hyung Tae rolled his eyes. “Finally.”
Lisa flushed. “Of course. What do you want?”
They placed their orders and she returned shortly with a tray of drinks. As she set it down, she tripped—and fell right on top of Seo Joon. The tray clattered to the floor, drinks spilling everywhere.
“Christ,” Seo Joon muttered under his breath.
“I’m so sorry!”
He looked up, ready to push her off, but stopped when he saw her eyes. Those warm brown eyes. They reminded him of someone. His heart began pounding in his chest.
What the hell is this feeling?
She stared into his eyes, and he couldn’t look away.
Choi Min Tae pulled her up quickly. “are you okay?”
“Yeah... I’m fine,” he replied, forcing himself not to look at her again—but the feeling lingered.
Lisa bowed. “I’m sorry! I’ll clean this up.”
As she hurried off, Seo Joon’s eyes followed her. She noticed—and kept blushing. She brought back a second round of drinks, this time much more carefully.
By the end of the night, Seo Joon had gotten her number. For the first time in a long time, he felt something new and exciting. He couldn’t wait to tell Jae Hyun about her—how she had his kind of eyes. But they weren’t really talking, so instead, he texted Ki Tae.
“Heading home tomorrow. Be safe.”
The next morning, after a quick shoot, Seo Joon returned to the dorm—only to find his bandmates in a foul mood.
“Hey... what’s going on?” he asked.
“Are you two fighting?” Ki Tae said. “Why are you always picking at each other?”
Do Hyun knocked Seo Joon on the head.
“Yah! That hurts!”
Do Hyun frowned. “I don’t know what happened, but Jae Hyun’s been in a terrible mood since morning. He twisted his ankle badly, so you should go talk to him.”
Seo Joon’s heart dropped. “He twisted his ankle?”
“Yeah. Go.”
On his way to Jae Hyun’s room, Jace passed him with a glare that could kill. Seo Joon blinked, confused, but didn’t stop.
When he stepped into the room, he saw Jae Hyun curled up under the blanket. He looked so small and soft. Seo Joon couldn’t resist. He crawled into bed beside him, wrapping his arms around his body, breathing in his familiar strawberry scent.
Jae Hyun shifted. Seo Joon knew he was awake.
When Jae Hyun opened his eyes, those same brown orbs stared at him—and Lisa’s image flashed in his mind.
He smiled.
“Na pabo (idiot),”Jae Hyun muttered, his voice filled with a mix of relief and annoyance.
“Hello, beautiful,”Seo Joon replied, even though he knew Jae Hyun hated being called that.
This time, he didn’t protest.
“You’ve got a lot of explaining to do, Kim Seo Joon.”
Seo Joon threw his arm over Jae Hyun, drawing him even closer.
“I will... but first, there’s something I have to tell you.”
Jae Hyun blinked. His eyes glimmered like crystal, fully locked onto Seo Joon.
“Jae Hyun... I think I’m in love.”
