[Ryo Vyce [Real World Name: Robert], sat in front of his computer, staring at the screen as he navigated the virtual game known as Second World. There you could live out a whole new life. Be who you wanted to be. In this place is where he had met EmmaluKa [Real World Name: Emilia] and they had hit it off immediately. Between them he calls her by her real name. After a while of hanging out together he knew he was falling for her. But this digital space was full of complicated social hierarchies, complex dynamics, and virtual segregation, which eventually made it a struggle for them to be together. Ryo knew that he wanted something more than a casual relationship with her but her popularity among other avatars made that very difficult. He had learned that she loved to sing. However, he couldn't help but feel a growing feeling of worry and unease. She was constantly surrounded by talent agents and fans. "How? How can I tell her how I feel? I’m… I’m nobody special." He taps his fingers in front of his computer wondering just how he would win her over. He knew that he had to tell her how he truly felt, but the thought of rejection made his heart race and his stomach flutter. Suddenly a virtual invitation pops up on his screen. It was from her, a message from EmmaluKa. 🌷“I’m going to sing tonight at the Cutey Patooty Club. It’s my first time. Pretty please… be there Ryo. I’ll be lookin for ya, 😉​​​​​​​😉 😂lol 😝.” This was his chance. Ryo’s eyes opened wide. That was such an exclusive club he thought. It was the best opportunity to tell her. But when Ryo logged on and warped to the location, he realized that there was a large crowd. He wasn’t able to get to her. A moderator of the club looked at his VIP ticket from EmmaluKa, looked at his average avatar body and said, “Ha, you? A VIP member? Yeah right. You go over there buddy with EVERYONE else!” Ryo was furious. As her show concluded, he could only watch her from afar, noticing how one exclusive VIP member kept flirting and chatting with her throughout the night. Ryo’s heart dropped in his chest, he felt defeated and wondered if he should just log off and call it a night.]   ​​​​​​​
