Chapter 2: The Whistle in the Dark

Aisha couldn't sleep.

The letter lay on her desk, illuminated by the faint glow of her bedside lamp.

"Don't let me enter the old railway station on June 12."

She read the sentence again and again.

Outside, the rain had stopped.

Then—

WOOOOOOO!

A train whistle echoed through the night.

Aisha sat upright.

That sound came from the direction of the old railway station.

But the station had been abandoned for twenty years.

No trains ran there.

Her heart pounded.

Slowly, she walked to her window.

The streets were empty.

Then she saw it.

A figure.

Standing beneath the flickering streetlight.

A boy.

Tall and thin.

His clothes were soaked from the rain.

His face was hidden in the darkness.

The boy slowly raised his head.

Aisha froze.

It looked exactly like Arif.

Her brother.

The boy stared directly at her window.

Then the streetlight went out.

Darkness swallowed him.

When the light flickered back on a second later...

He was gone.

The next morning, Aisha rushed downstairs.

"Mom, did Arif ever send letters after he left?" she asked.

Her mother looked surprised.

"No. Why?"

Aisha hesitated.

The strange letter was still hidden in her room.

She wasn't sure anyone would believe her.

That afternoon, she decided to visit the town library.

The old librarian listened carefully as she asked about the abandoned railway station.

His face turned pale.

"You should stay away from that place," he whispered.

"Why?"

The old man glanced around nervously.

Then he leaned closer.

"Every year, on June 12, people report hearing a train that doesn't exist."

A chill ran through Aisha's body.

"And some say they see a boy walking along the tracks."

Aisha's hands trembled.

"A boy who looks lost."

The librarian lowered his voice even further.

"Some people say he is searching for a way home."

Suddenly, a loud crash came from outside the library.

Everyone jumped.

Aisha turned toward the window.

A bicycle had fallen over.

Nothing unusual.

Yet something caught her eye.

Written on the fogged glass was a message.

Three words.

HE FOUND YOU

Aisha stepped back in terror.

But when she blinked...

The words vanished.

As if they had never been there.

That night, someone slipped a second envelope under her bedroom door.

And on the front was written:

"You have only 11 days left."
