The days that followed became... peaceful.

Every morning started with a "Good morning" from Alex.

And every night ended with a "Good night."

It was something I'd never experienced before.

It became part of my routine before I even realized it.

Morning texts.

Random conversations throughout the day.

Late-night chats before sleeping.

I think it went on like that for almost two months.

Strangely...

We never met.

Not even once.

He never asked.

And I never brought it up either.

Yet somehow, we grew closer.

Talking about our day.

Complaining about college.

Sharing random thoughts that didn't really matter.

Somehow...

They mattered because we were sharing them with each other.

For the first time in a long while...

Life felt...

Nice.

Then...

My phone rang.

I looked at the caller ID.

...

My chest tightened.

"...Man."

Why now?

Everything was going so perfectly.
