After the two days for them to rest, they went back to their normal school lives, but the tension was noticable, Anas realized his mistake and immediately went to apologize to them.
He saw them in the hallway and when he tried to apologize, "You don't have to apologize, Anas. You didn't know our situation, so it was our fault for lashing out," Karasu said.
"You're... forgiving me? Well, at least I need to do something for asking that question," Anas insisted.
"We only want you to never ask or say anything about any of our parents," Nex said.
"I won't, I promise," Anas said, though he wanted to do something more for them and decided to do that in the future. Though they made up, the tension was still there and they were quieter. Suddenly, the principal's assistant came up to them.
"Principal Agnus wants to meet the three of you," the assistant told them. The trio were caught off guard, the most feared lady in the academy wants to see them, they know that principal Agnus was almost promoted to the prismatic rank, but fell short because her abilities weren't able to really work with the others. And as a result, she created a massive crater in her blind anger. They still went to her office, but they knew it was something serious if the principal suddenly asked them to come.
When they got in front of her office, they could already feel her power slipping through the tiny gaps between the door and the door frame.
They knocked on the door and walked in, just a small opening could freeze the boys in fear, but they kept their cool and sat in front of principal Agnus with Mr Blaze next to her.
"So, you three are the students who took down the magnitude 2 camp, a finger, a Minotaur and injured the spider queen. You guys truly impressed me, however, I want to know your thoughts on why the Minotaur and spider queen showed up," principal Agnus asked them.
While Karasu and Nex had no idea, Anas had a theory, "Well the Minotaur might have accidentally jumped into a cave near where there were with the spider children, it then had a small battle with them before the queen showed up, they then fought and the Minotaur escaped by digging a hole up to the surface. After that, it was just escaping from the queen and her young and found us," Anas explained.
"While your theory makes some sense, it doesn't explain how the Minotaur got near to the edge of the forest. And plus, the two creatures didn't have scars when they saw you three, so the fighting part also doesn't make sense," principal Agnus said.
"Could they have been controlled?" asked Anas. "While not impossible, the person to control them must be diamond or prismatic ranked and there aren't many, but Cruels can be born with the ability and need to be stronger than the opponent to control them," Mr Blaze said.
"Whatever the reason is, doesn't matter for now. You three managed to defeat the Minotaur and could have killed the spider queen if it had not escaped, that is already impressive because I know that would take an amethyst ranked mage to do what you three did and an amethyst ranked mage is at least ten times stronger than a copper one, so you three grew significantly in a short amount of time," principal Agnus said with a smile.
"Well, you three can go back to your classes, I will do the rest of the explaining," Mr Blaze said and the three left her office.
After their meeting with principal Agnus, they walked back to their classroom, but rumors about their secret mission were spreading, since other students didn't see them for more than a week, and all three of them got more attention, though the students were not sure if the rumors are true, but the girls didn't care if they're true or not, they still flocked over the trio.
Luckily, the three vice principals: Mr X, Mr L and Ms T became their new bodyguards.
"Mrs T is already married, so no need to fear her flirting with you three," Mr X said. Eye magic can't be used in the school grounds besides the assessment room, sparring room and different training rooms. If any students used eye magic in the halls or classrooms, the student must pay by taking missions above their rank and also pay for the damages, this is why although there are tons of students, it's not too chaotic.
Mr Blaze also got affected because students now ask him for facts on the trio, but he managed to dodge them skillfully.
The three were constantly surrounded and a few students were jealous and wanted to fight them, though they know they would lose to the trio. However, one of them was brave enough to challenge them.
"Hey, you three!" a voice shouted. The trio looked towards where the voice was coming from and saw a senior with brown hair.
"You three think you are cool because you scored high on the assessment test? Well, you're wrong, the assessment test only tests your strengths and weaknesses, not your battle intelligence. In a normal fight with a finger, you three would be toasted!" The senior said with anger, though the trio just looked at him with confusion.
"Uhhhh, who are you?" Karasu said as he looked towards the other two and both also had no clue of who that is.
"Are you kidding me?? I am the infamous cowboy, Clover! The person who got 95/100 in my assignment test last year!" Clover gloated.
"I thought you said the assessment test was inaccurate," Anas said.
"Although it doesn't tell the full story, it still shows one's capabilities," Clover stated.
"I mean, we can test our abilities again," Anas said.
"It's still the midterms, so we have plenty of time to get stronger," Nex said.
"Well, if you want to test it, then go ahead, I will still beat you," Clover said with confidence.
The trio went to the assessment room and Nex got 98/100 for his near perfect execution, only thing holding him back is the lack of diversity to his abilities.
Anas surprisingly got 96/100 for his plans and his output got better with his predictability becoming less noticeable, but it still a weak spot enemies can use.
And last but not least, Karasu got 100/100 for his unpredictable moves while also being more careful with his opponent and no weaknesses could be spotted. If he fought against any of his classmates, he would win 100% of the time, even against Nex or Anas.
"So, how does it feel to get your ass kicked?" Nex said with a cunning smile.
"No way! How?? Well, I guess you three were much stronger than I expected. As your reward, I will also be one of your bodyguards now that your true strength has been shown," Clover said.
