Marie crouched in front of the fireplace, poking a chicken as it rotated slowly on a spit.
Rosafiere tugged on the edge of her glove as she continued turning the spit.
“Marie?”74Please respect copyright.PENANAwNY2kA03Iy
“Mh?”
Marie hummed, tilting her head slightly in Rosafiere’s direction.
Rosafiere cleared her throat.74Please respect copyright.PENANAkRQFUkuZcs
“Darcy… seems to have… lost his luster.”
She remarked in an attempt to be truthful without being impolite.
Marie snorted.
“He never had much to begin with.”
Rosafiere tilted her head slightly, stifling a grin.
“Thank God I’m not the only one who thinks he’s boring.”
Marie shrugged.
“Well, boring is better than cursed.”74Please respect copyright.PENANA13MTQ3RXOx
She replied in a way that sounded more like a reminder.
Rosafiere glanced down at her gloved fingers around the metal.
“I… I suppose.”
Marie squinted at the bird on the spit.
“Does this look done to you, Rose? I’d hate to keep Darcy waiting.”
Rosafiere rolled her eyes.
“He can wait a few minutes if you don’t think it’s done. If he can’t then he should make it himself.”
“Rosey!”
Marie gasped softly.
“I’m just saying.”
Rosafiere sing-songed, glancing at Marie out of the corner of her eye.
“Am I wrong?”74Please respect copyright.PENANACnxOeT9zRU
She questioned, turning to look at her friend.
“...No. Darcy is awfully needy. Annoyingly needy.”
Marie admitted, reclining on the floor.
“Like a tiny little dog.”
Rosafiere leaned closer.
“What kind? A chihuahua?”
She queeried
Marie tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
“No. He’s too pitiful to be a chihuahua. Maybe… a Bichon Frise?”
Rosafiere nodded.74Please respect copyright.PENANA7kVGDaj8FA
“Indeed.”
“Marie?!”74Please respect copyright.PENANA3mOaRygwQ8
Darcy called from the sitting room.
“Just a moment, dear!”
Marie responded, sitting up on the floor.
“As long as you're happy, Marie.”74Please respect copyright.PENANAFipniByGOV
