The platform slowly fell silent.

The last train had disappeared into the darkness.

Valindra stood there for a few seconds, staring at the empty tracks.

Then she took a deep breath.

Trying to ignore them, she stepped inside the small office.

"Excuse me," she asked politely.

"Is there any way to reach my next destination tonight?"

The officer barely looked at her.

"You'll have to wait until morning."

One of them smiled.

The empty road outside the station felt darker than ever.

She clutched the straps of her backpack and broke into a run.

The boys laughed and chased after her.

Suddenly...

She saw a familiar figure standing beneath a streetlight.

Without thinking for even a second, she ran straight toward him.

Before he could react...

She wrapped her arms around him tightly.

He froze.

The boys slowed down as soon as they saw her standing beside a man.
