What Have We Become?

The world was perfect once,

but only for a short period of time,

before corruption,

before sin.

It’s only gotten worse over time,

and now it seems like things will never change.

What have we become?

We were perfect,

but we threw it all away.

What have we become,

where our solution is violence and death?

Where we destroy nature,

to have another store?

Where men harass women for pleasure?

Where we turn a blind eye to the hungry and homeless?

What cruel, sick monsters have we become?

Where we kill animals for sport?

Where people abuse innocent children?

Why do we choose to turn away from the light that gives us a chance?

What twisted monsters have we become?!

Where people take pleasure,

in making the world a living hell?
